Kirk Fell is a fell in the Western part of the English Lake District. It is situated between Great Gable and Pillar on the long ring of fells surrounding the valley of Ennerdale, and also stands over Wasdale to the south.

Kirk Fell via Black Sail Pass

This route starts from Wasdale Head and follows the path towards Black Sail Pass. From the pass, a steep ascent leads directly to the summit of Kirk Fell. The path is well-trodden but can be challenging due to the steepness.
Starting from Wasdale Head, this route takes you up to Beck Head, the col between Great Gable and Kirk Fell. From Beck Head, a steep and rocky ascent leads to the summit. This route offers stunning views but requires good navigation skills.
A longer circular route that includes an ascent of Pillar before heading to Kirk Fell. Starting from Wasdale Head, the route takes you over Black Sail Pass, up to Pillar, and then across to Kirk Fell. This is a demanding walk with significant elevation gain.
A popular starting point for many walks in the Western Fells, including Kirk Fell. The car park can fill up quickly, especially on weekends and holidays.
The nearest train station is in Seascale, from where you can take a taxi or a bus to Wasdale Head. Check local bus schedules as services can be infrequent.
